This page contains brief details of the free legal notice template documents that are available for download from this site. The page is intended to help you decide which legal notices you need.
We have tried to make the legal notice templates as user-friendly as possible, whilst still providing comprehensive legal protection. The legal notices take into account the very latest legal developments at the date of release.
You will of course need to adapt the legal notice templates to suit your website and business. The more complex legal notices include detailed footnotes to help you make the adaptations.
Please read our document licence before using any of these documents. If you would like to use one of these documents without paying, you must leave the credit and links in the document. Website disclaimer
The website disclaimer is a short legal notice covering the basic issues that arise out of the use of a website. It is suitable for use with most simple brochure websites and other information-only websites having a focus upon England and Wales.

Website terms and conditions
Our website terms and conditions template has been designed for use in England and Wales on websites with basic interactive features, such as blogs, bulletin boards and forum-based sites. This legal notice template may be unsuitable for more sophisticated interactive websites and insufficient for use on websites which feature paid subscription.

Website privacy policy
Our website privacy policy template has been designed for use in England and Wales by websites which collect some personal data - but which do not collect sensitive personal data or data from children, and do not make any unusual uses of the personal data which they collect.

This linking policy may be used to state a website's policy for linking out, as well as to assist in the management of incoming links.

Both UK and EU law require that websites making use of cookies (that is, most websites) make certain disclosures about those cookies. This policy is intended to help you with those disclosures. It is a more detailed version of the basic cookies policy incorporated into our privacy policy template.
